Consumer & Market Adoption

What is the overall benefit and expected revenue lift for brands who use AR?

Brands that implement AR have an edge over others by getting customers over the hurdle of making a purchase decision by reducing the uncertainty over how an item will look in their home. Flix already have around 40 customers already using the Flix AR platform, including Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, and LEGO. Brands typically saw a 12% lift in Add-to-Cart, 9% lift in sales conversion, and 10% reduction on returns in our AB Tests. Realizing these returns has become even more attainable because the threshold for model development pre-requisites dropped significantly with recent advancements.

Can AR be seen on any device?

All mobile devices with AR capabilities are supported. These devices represent about 89% of smartphones currently in use in Europe, that's almost 1 Billion active phones reaching an estimated 58% of the population! Use of AR technology is quickly growing among shoppers, 48% of consumers surveyed said they would prefer to buy from AR-enabled retailers.

What is changing?

The production of the 3D models and the consumer-facing branding have been vastly improved. As a result, the models are much higher quality and simultaneously less costly to implement. The consumer-facing icons and 3D player have been redesigned to accommodate our new production process, loading the models much more quickly to enhance the consumer experience.

Are there any restrictions on product category or type?

Currently, our focus is on Consumer Electronics and white goods.

What are the technical requirements that a brand will need to provide?

Information requirements must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Product Information: Brand, model name, dimensions, MPN/EAN

  • Product Imagery: we require a minimum of 3 images per model showing a complete view of the product on all sides. In special cases, we may accept a blank side where it will not damage the overall model quality, such as sides that are not visible when a product is installed. Files should be submitted in .jpg format, minimum 1000 pixels. Brands are welcome to send more images, additional images displaying multiple angles and views increase the model quality, achieving better results.

  • Submission Method: Images can be submitted via FTP or another approved method.

What are the timelines for the build of AR models?

Models are built within 4-6 weeks of all required assets being submitted, subject to capacity constraints.
